Zacatecas is consolidated as Romance Tourism!

Janet and Antonio made their dream of love come true; They decided that their nuptial link would be in Zacatecas, the land where they were both born, but from which they emigrated several years ago to California, United States.

In the American Union they began their history together and decided to say yes in front of the Virgen de los Zacatecas, in the Cathedral.

The groom, Antonio Cabrera, recounted that they decided that the wedding would take place in this land of quarry and silver.

“My family is from here, we come from here, and for me it is a beautiful tradition to follow my grandparents, who were charros, originally from Zacatecas; It is a pleasure to follow the traditions because sometimes they get lost”.

«It is a pleasure that it gives us the opportunity to continue coming and that the state of Zacatecas gives us its attention and privileges.»

As a preamble to the religious ceremony, mounted on sorrels, bays, and grays, the bride and groom and the knights of honor rode through the historic center of Zacatecas.

They crossed the El Cubo aqueduct, González Ortega and Hidalgo avenues, where they passed by historic buildings such as the Rosales portal and the Fernando Calderón theater, until they reached the Basilica Cathedral of Zacatecas on horseback.

Throughout the journey, people were expectant, and some recorded the memory with their mobile phones.

The riders wore their charro clothing in blue tones, the bride dressed in white crossed the center of the capital city in a calandria pulled by a black Percheron horse.

Behind the groom, the tamborazo played Carabina 3030, Gabino Barrera, among many others, while behind the bride came a mariachi who played La Feria de las Flores.

«When I was a child, I watched the films of Antonio Aguilar, by Pedro Infante, and I watched my grandfather ride a lot; the whole family is horse-riding, and for me it is in my blood, and how could I not marry a charro and follow this tradition?»

Antonio Cabrera resides in Oxnard, California, in the United States. He arrived in Zacatecas along with about a hundred migrants to decorate his wedding with Janet, with the landscapes and traditions of Zacatecas, which has established itself as a tourist destination for weddings.

Antonio is from the Calera de Víctor Rosales region, and Janet is from Ermita de los Correa, in the municipality of Jerez.

«We are very happy to have the opportunity to be here,» they said.

His attraction to Zacatecas is not only its origin or its architecture, but also its history.

“The Revolution, Pancho Villa, Juana Gallo; everything is special to me, I remember my grandparents who joined the Revolution and were here, my great-grandmother was a nurse and Zacatecas runs in my blood.”

The cathedral bells rang to announce the arrival of the bride and groom. Janet was the last to arrive at the church, where she was lined up with horses.

This is how Zacatecas offers itself as a destination for romance, to make dreams of love come true with natural settings and dreamlike architecture.
