Congress of Zacatecas awards the Migrant Merit Medal to Don Carlos Amado Sánchez

By agreement taken in a Session of the Legislative Commission for Attention to Migrants, which took effect on August 23 of the current year, he was unanimously designated as the winner of the Medal of Recognition of Migrant Merit of the Legislative Branch of the State of Zacatecas , to citizen Carlos Amado Sánchez Rodríguez, permanent manager of migrant groups for the benefit of Zacatecas.

Representing the Governor of the State, David Monreal Ávila, Mr. attended. Iván Reyes Millán, head of the Zacatecano Migrant Secretariat; Judge Angélica Castañeda Sánchez, President of the First Criminal Chamber, attended on behalf of the Judiciary of the State of Zacatecas. Also present was the Brigadier General, Diplomate of the General Staff, Alejandro Vargas González, Commander of the XI Military Zone.

Deputy María del Refugio Ávalos Márquez was in charge of reading Legislative Agreement number 281, published in the Official State Newspaper, on July 1, 2023, through which the LXIV Legislature authorizes the awarding of the medal of recognition of Merit Migrant.

Deputy José Juan Estrada Hernández recalled that several decades ago the migrant Zacatecans began to pursue the desire for democracy, not only for those who stayed, but also for those who had to go in search of better living conditions, and the The result became tangible in 2003 with the representation of 2 migrant deputations in this Legislative Branch.

Therefore, upon celebrating 20 years of this achievement, he recognized the migrant community as drivers par excellence of the growth and development of the towns, as he assured, “their work constitutes a direct challenge to government practices, that is, the political value of migrant practice is an empirical question full of solidarity and based on will.”

The legislator with migrant representation, José Juan Estrada, highlighted the fact that today’s Solemn Session is to honor the work, solidarity, will and righteousness of Zacatecan men and women who, regardless of their place of residence, carry out actions in our State or abroad, for the benefit of the migrant community and their families.

On the occasion, the deputy with migrant representation, Armando Juárez González, also recognized the work that migrant Zacatecans do in favor of the entity, and clarified that their contribution to the country’s economy is not all that they generate, since They enrich the diversity of culture and strengthen the identity as Mexicans and Zacatecas, in addition to being a humanitarian phenomenon.

Subsequently, a minute of silence was offered in honor of the migrant deputy Sergio Ortega Rodríguez, who was a member of the LXIV State Legislature.

Carlos Amado Sánchez Rodríguez was proposed to receive recognition by the members of the Association of Migrant Zacatecans of the Colonia Hidalgo de Ojuelos, in Fresnillo. He was born in Monte Escobedo, but was raised in Fresnillo, and as a migrant in the United States, he has dedicated himself to supporting those who require it, either with his resources, or with the management he undertakes personally.
